DSM Small Business Recovery Grant Application Opens, Accepted through May 20

In an effort to assist businesses facing hardship from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greater Des Moines Partnership announced grant awards for businesses with physical locations within the cities of Carlisle, Clive, Des Moines, Indianola, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights. Eligible businesses include for-profit sole-proprietors and businesses with 30 or fewer employees that have been in operation since July 1, 2019 or prior, and have experienced economically impacts through limitations on its operations. Grant amounts range from $1,000 - $5,000, and up to $10,000 for business in the City of Des Moines.
All applicants will be required to provide the following information:
- 4-month profit and loss statement (Jan. – April 2020)
- 4-month profit and loss statement (Jan. – April 2019)
- 3-month projected income and expenses (May1 – July 30,2020)
- Balance Sheet (as of April 30, 3030)
- Amount of payroll prior to March 15, 2020
The selection process considers whether the applicant has applied for or received other COVID-19 business assistance programs, such as the Paycheck Protection Program or Economic Injury Disaster Loan.
