Members of BrownWinick's Health Law Practice Group and their families gathered on Saturday, September 28, 2019 to participate in NAMIWalks Iowa, which was held in Johnston. BrownWinick also served as a Bronze Sponsor of the event.
The NAMIWalks Iowa event raised over $123,000 for the Iowa Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Health. One in five adults, or approximately 600,000 Iowans, live with some form of mental illness, and about 37,000 Iowans deal with a serious mental illness daily. NAMI Iowa's mission is to serve as a catalyst around advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all Iowans affected by mental illness can lead better lives. BrownWinick is proud to partner with NAMI Iowa on this very successful event for such an important mission.
About NAMI
Mental illnesses are brain disorders that are biologically based medical problems. Untreated, they can cause severe disturbances in thinking, feeling and relating. They are not caused by bad parenting and not evidence of weakness of character.
