As an attorney at BrownWinick, my primary areas of practice are surrogacy, adoption, and health care law. These are broad areas that encompass many legal issues. Whether you have one specific legal question or if your vision is on a larger scale such as building your health care practice from the ground up, I can work with you to create a plan for reaching your goals.

My approach

I understand that my clients appreciate not only legal advice but also practical solutions to immediately implement legal recommendations within their business. My approach is to work with you to gain an understanding of your business or health care practice so that we can best work together to reach your business goals.

In my surrogacy and adoption practice, I strive to be compassionate in working with my clients. There are many moving pieces in adoption and surrogacy journeys, and my role is to help to guide you through the process and breakdown the legal steps in a way that takes some of the burden off of you and keeps things moving forward as scheduled.

More about me

My career prior to attending law school was in the health care industry as a medical receptionist. This experience brings value to my current health care clients in areas such as billing and reimbursement, day-to-day operations of small to mid-sized medical offices, and communication with insurance companies.

In 2017, I graduated from Drake University Law School and Des Moines University’s joint degree program, earning a J.D., with honors, and a Master of Health Care Administration. Before joining BrownWinick, I clerked for the judges in the Iowa District Court, District 2B, gaining knowledge of the judicial system and working with judges on a wide variety of legal issues.

In addition to my legal work, I enjoy being involved in the community. A few local organizations I volunteer with or serve on the board of include Susan G. Komen Greater Iowa, Can Do Cancer, and Polk County Women Attorneys.
