As an associate attorney practicing litigation, I get exposed to all types of cases. It is my job to get to know not only your case, but you. I want to learn what is important to you or your company, and I will work to help you find an efficient and successful resolution to help you achieve those goals. I have experience handling cases before state courts, federal courts, and state administrative agencies in both Iowa and Illinois. In addition to my courtroom experience, I worked as an insurance regulator which gave me the experience of seeing cases from the other side of the table.
My Approach
I work hard to provide efficient and practical advice, understanding that litigation can be disruptive to your day-to-day lives and business. What can be routine to me as a lawyer is anything but routine to you. It is important to me that you understand what the issues are, and that we have direct communication about what the case may bring. I am your advocate, and I take that role seriously. Each case is unique, and I want to help you reach the best result for you at the earliest point possible.
More About Me
Having grown up in Dubuque, my family and I returned to Iowa from Chicago where I graduated, summa cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law in 2011 with a certificate in Art and Museum Law. After graduation, I worked at a boutique defense firm in Chicago, where I focused my practice on commercial litigation, products liability, construction litigation and professional liability defense matters.
I was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2017, and worked at the Iowa Insurance Division as a Health Insurance Compliance Officer. In that role, I developed policy initiatives around the Affordable Care Act and administrative rules around health care reform.
As evidenced by my law school experience, I have a lifelong passion for the arts. Prior to attending law school, I worked for several arts non-profit organizations while obtaining my M.A. in Arts Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
