Caleb J. Brus is a member attorney at BrownWinick. Caleb is a business law attorney and understands the power of mission focused collaboration. Caleb is committed to understanding the businesses of his clients, including their current and future needs. It is inevitable that his clients will encounter expected and unexpected challenges. Caleb will be a responsive partner as he works through their legal and business obstacles. Before joining BrownWinick, Caleb worked for a fortune 500 global financial services company where he was the Chief Compliance Officer for the bank and trust company. Caleb oversaw a multitude of regulatory bodies including ERISA, DOL, IRS, SEC, FINRA, OCC, and FDIC. He served in several executive management committee roles, working directly with senior management. This experience allowed him to be more than “just your lawyer” as his issue spotting and consultation skills stretch well beyond legal and regulatory issues.
Alexandria R. Munro is an associate attorney at BrownWinick, and works primarily in the intellectual property practice group. She believes every business needs to actively manage and protect their intellectual property. Alexandria helps her clients understand and obtain intellectual property rights, enforce and monetize their intellectual property, and defend against accusations of infringement. She believes the best way to develop an effective legal solution is by listening to her client's ideas, goals, interests, questions and concerns. She strives to understand her client's invention, idea, brand, or creative work they want to be protected. Alexandria will help her clients understand their options and legal strategies for obtaining protection, enforcing their rights, or resolving particular situations.
After graduating law school in 2017, Alexandria moved to Des Moines and worked for a Des Moines intellectual property law firm for six years. During her time there, she prosecuted various patent applications in a wide range of industries and helped clients protect their trademarks. She was selected as a Great Plains Rising Stars by Super Lawyers in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Nicholas D. Ott is an associate attorney at BrownWinick. Nicholas specializes in employment and litigation law, and he strives to be a trusted advisor and problem-solver for his clients. Nicholas can relate to his clients and predict their needs because he has likely been there before. Whether it be a disruptive legal dispute, complex personnel issue, confusing regulation, or another crisis, Nicholas will be a steady and resilient resource. Nicholas prioritizes clarity, practicality, and adaptability. He believes in simplifying legal concepts so that his clients feel empowered to make informed decisions. Beyond merely resolving issues, Nicholas sees his role as equipping clients with knowledge and tools to navigate future challenges with confidence. Whether they prefer to dive into the details or delegate tasks, Nicholas is here to support clients in a way that best resonates with their preferences. Before joining BrownWinick, Nicholas worked for 15 years in management positions for privately held industry-leading corporations. This included serving as in-house counsel for a large Iowa manufacturing company for four years leading its employment and labor practice. Before practicing law, Nicholas worked for five years in corporate Human Resources and was a senior manager for compensation, benefits, HRIS, and workforce planning. He also has experience as a project manager, account manager, and general manager overseeing a line of strategic business units for a national autofinance company. In addition to his corporate experience, Nicholas has also represented a professional athlete since 2021.
