BrownWinick dental attorneys and staff volunteered for the Iowa Mission of Mercy (IMOM), which was held on September 29-30, 2017 at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This two-day event, sponsored by the Iowa Dental Foundation, allows children and adult patients, regardless of income or previous dental history, to receive free, quality dental care provided by dental professionals. In addition to the volunteer efforts of dental professionals, hundreds of general volunteers provided assistance in all areas, including set up, child care, patient check in and patient escorting.

Our team of attorneys and staff assisted with these efforts by volunteering as patient escorts and in providing assistance organizing patients for their needed services. Since the first IMOM event in 2008, almost 13,000 patients from all areas of the state and beyond have received free dental care totaling almost $8.5 million.
The Iowa Mission of Mercy is a large scale, two-day dental community dental clinic where dental professionals and general volunteers donate their time to provide free oral health care to individuals who face barriers to receiving dental care. A full-service field dental clinic with 100 dental operators is set up and patients are treated on a first come, first served basis.
