Specialties

Every business has Intellectual Property and every business needs to actively manage and protect its Intellectual Property. It is my job to help make sure you have the protection you need by getting to know you and your business goals and objectives.

More About Me

My practice includes preparation and prosecution of patent applications, trademarks, and copyrights and I serve as co-chair of the Intellectual Property practice group.

In 2012, I received my J.D. from Drake University Law School. While in law school, I was active in the Intellectual Property Law Society, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and Drake Law Women. I also served as a Judicial Intern for Magistrate Judge Celeste F. Bremer of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.

Prior to law school, I graduated from Drake University, cum laude, in 2009, receiving my B.A. in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology. While at Drake, I was an assistant to Dr. Nicole Taylor, examining biological and psychological effects of breast cancer on women/daughters. I was also active in the Delta Gamma Sorority and National Council on Youth Leadership.

Before joining BrownWinick, I was a member of the patent department at an international seed company that develops, produces and sells high-yielding corn, sorghum, sunflower, alfalfa, canola and wheat seeds. During this time, I drafted and prosecuted patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices; prepared freedom to operate opinions; drafted agreements; and advised on intellectual property rights including Plant Variety Protection rights (also known as Plant Breeders' Rights).

I am a member of Polk County Women Attorneys, the Polk County Bar Association, and the Iowa Bar Association. I have been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers® - Ones to Watch in the areas of Intellectual Property Law and Patent Law. In 2015, I was admitted to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a registered patent attorney and was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2012.
