Two Nursing Facility Projects Approved at CON Hearing

By: BrownWinick

The State Health Facilities Council (“Council”) approved two nursing facility projects during its May 6, 2015 Iowa Certificate of Need (“CON”) hearing. One nonreviewability determination and one extension request were also approved. There were also two requests to establish ambulatory surgery centers on this agenda.  However, both of the ASC applicants asked to have their projects heard at a later hearing date because there were only four Council Members present at the hearing.  One Council member was absent for health reasons.

The Council scheduled its next regular meeting for August 6, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. to be held at the State Crime Lab building on the DMACC campus. The Council’s previously scheduled September 22, 2015 meeting has been cancelled. It is anticipated that the Council will schedule another meeting date for some time in mid to late October.
