New Iowa Legislators: 2018

Following November’s mid-term elections, Iowa Republicans maintained the “trifecta," continuing to hold the House, Senate, and governorship.  Republicans increased their majority in the Senate, while Democrats slightly narrowed the GOP majority in the House.  As a result, after a number of lawmaker retirements and some flipped seats, 31 new legislators will come to the Capitol in January when the 2019 legislative session begins on Monday, January 14, 2019.  Our Government Relations team prepared information regarding the newly-elected legislators (as well as information about leadership in both Chambers).
