New Form I-9 Released

On March 8, 2013, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") released a new Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification Form. The form is now available on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov or by clicking on this link Form I-9. Employers will not be penalized for using the old version of the Form I-9 until after May 7, 2013 when use of the new form becomes mandatory. That being said, employers are encouraged to begin using the new form as soon as possible.

Form I-9 is required for all new hires to verify that the worker is authorized to work in the United States.
